Why Choose Talk Baby Talk?
Welcome to Talk Baby Talk Antenatal Classes, my name is Lynn Banerji and I live in Oxford. Most people have heard of the NCT classes available for antenatal
education in their area, and they are perfect if being in a group setting is what you and your
partner prefer. Talk Baby Talk was set up to provide an alternative to
group sessions in that it offers one to one classes to individuals or couples,
and comes to your own home.
On qualifying as a general nurse in 1988 I moved to Oxford and later completed a four year degree course in Midwifery. During my degree I gained knowledge and experience in all aspects of antenatal care, childbirth and the postnatal period. Alongside my degree I successfully gained a qualification in holistic massage. I left midwifery practice because I was very frustrated at not being able to provide the standard of care within the NHS that I felt was so very important for women who were experiencing childbirth. Working independently I can now provide antenatal education to the highest standard, and have the professional and personal experience to work with you in the earliest days with your new baby.
Following my degree I decided to spend some time in medical research and administration within the University.
I left work to look after my own children and have two little girls born in 2002 and 2004 and a baby boy born 2008. My first little girl was born at the John Radcliffe Hospital and eventually entered the world with the aid of ventouse, however, my second little girl was born at home in a birthing pool (weighing in at a very healthy 9lb 15oz!). For both of my little girls I chose to have Independent Midwifery care. My little boy was born in May 2008 by caesarean section.
Kathryn, Richard and Anna " we were unbelievably lucky to pick up a leaflet advertising Talk Baby Talk. I can honestly say we would have been lost without your calm advice and care. When I went into hospital 5 weeks early we were not ready and knew very little about what was to come. The fact that you put yourself out to come up to the hospital and talk us through it provided us with invaluable support. This continued after the birth when we found your text messages and phone calls really reassuring. Your encouragement during the postnatal sessions has really helped to build my confidence. Thank you for believing in my ability to be a good mum, especially at times when I was lacking in confidence in myself! A stunning personalised service which can't be beaten!"
Alex, Max and Leon "I had no idea what to expect in my labour or in giving birth to Leon. We heard all sorts of horror stories about other peoples experience and were, quite frankly, scared about what was to come. We decided to opt for the individual service provided by Talk Baby Talk so that we could get the most benefit out of one to one support. You were calm, supportive and always at hand to answer our many questions and talk us through the whole labour and birth process. We can't thank you enough!"
Cathryn, Andrew and twins Sam & Lily"I found the sessions gave me a great deal more confidence and information prior to labour. I was very scared before I had these sessions about what to expect in labour and after the babies were born but felt thoroughly more prepared after the sessions. I would recommend these support groups to any in-experienced mum to be!"
Monica, Rajan and Amaya "I really miss our sessions and how it reminds me of my pregnancy. You really made my last weeks of pregnancy enjoyable and calmed me when I was anxious. Your invaluable advice really helped me in that labour room and you were one of the first people I thought of when sharing the brilliant news of the birth of our lovely daughter. The three of us are glad to have you in our lives. "
